Maiolica Anthology

Hand-crafted by Tuscan artisans in Montelupo – one of the absolute historic centres of 16th-century Italian maiolica production – this anthology represents a continuation of a profound ceramic legacy. Each piece is meticulously shaped and glazed by hand, remaining unconditionally faithful to the original styles, philosophies, and disciplines that defined the Renaissance masters.

During the 16th century, Italian maiolica commanded the attention of the British aristocracy, forming a cornerstone of the era’s most significant private collections. The immense historical gravity of these pieces is perhaps best evidenced by the extensive quantity recorded in the private inventory of King Henry VIII following his death.

Today, our Maiolica works are curated strictly for the interior environment. They are not merely decorative ceramics, but historical companions designed to bring centuries of Tuscan artistry into the modern room.

To experience the scale and precision of these pieces in person, our gallery in Oxford is open by private viewing.
