These Terms of Sale govern the purchase of all artwork, antiques, and terracotta from House of Moy. By confirming an order with us, you agree to the terms outlined below.
All acquisitions are handled directly through the gallery. We accept payment via BACS bank transfer upon receipt of our invoice, or securely via card in the gallery (processed by Worldpay). To secure your piece and confirm your order, we require full payment cleared in our account prior to the release or delivery of the goods.
Given the monumental and fragile nature of our archive, we personally undertake the delivery of our pieces within the UK using our own specialist team. Alternatively, collectors are welcome to collect pieces directly from the gallery by appointment.
The risk of damage or loss transfers to the client at the precise moment the piece is successfully delivered to the agreed address, or, in the case of personal collection, the moment the piece is loaded into the client’s vehicle.
We are exceptionally proud of our 26-year history and the satisfaction of our collectors. Under UK law, clients purchasing standard archive pieces online or over the phone have the right to cancel their order within 14 days of receiving the goods. The piece must be returned in its original, undamaged condition. Given the monumental nature of the archive, House of Moy must facilitate the return collection using our specialist team unless otherwise agreed. The cost of this return collection will be deducted from the final refund amount.
Pieces that are custom-made, specially moulded, or sourced specifically at a client's request are exempt from the standard 14-day cancellation right. All sales of bespoke works are final. House of Moy may, in highly exceptional circumstances, review a bespoke return request, but this remains entirely at our absolute discretion.
All of our historic Impruneta terracotta vessels carry a 20-year guarantee against frost, sun, and sea-air corrosion. For this guarantee to remain valid, it is a strict condition of sale that adequate water drainage is maintained at all times. Specifically, the vessel must not be placed directly flush against earth or soft ground in a manner that seals the basal drainage hole. Furthermore, plant roots must not be permitted to grow through and block this hole, as trapped water will freeze and expand during winter, compromising the clay. We strongly advise all clients to elevate vessels on feet or risers where necessary, and to undertake regular root pruning. Any structural damage resulting from a failure to maintain clear drainage will immediately void this guarantee.
