If the Vaso Orlato is a study in architectural banding, the Cono Liscio pushes the philosophy of restraint to its absolute limit. Relying upon a single, continuous line that sweeps upward from a subtle base to a gently flared rim, it is an exercise in pure, unadulterated form. By stripping away all historic motifs, the artisan’s focus remains entirely on the fluidity of the silhouette and the inherent beauty of the material.
The vast, unadorned surface of this piece acts as a physical record of the firing process itself. Lacking any sculptural interruption, the eye is drawn immediately to the chalky, variegated patina – a direct result of the rich minerals and salts within the Impruneta clay reacting with oxygen in the kiln. The prominent stamped seal resting near the rim serves as the sole decorative element, standing as a quiet mark of authenticity and centuries-old artisanal heritage.
We selected the Cono Liscio for the collection because of its profound versatility. It effortlessly bridges the gap between the ancient and the contemporary; its minimalist silhouette feels exceptionally modern, yet it is forged from the exact same historic earth and firing techniques that built the Renaissance. It is designed to stand as a striking, solitary statement piece.
